Privacy policy
Offly is built around a simple idea: the less we know about you, the better. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and how to get rid of it.

1. Who we are
Offly is made by Offly, based in India ("Offly", "we"). We are the data controller for anything described here. Contact: hello@beoffly.com.
2. The short version
- The launcher works with no account and sends us nothing you'd recognise as personal data.
- Your app usage, rules, schedules, hidden apps and kids-mode settings stay on your phone.
- The only things that ever reach our servers are an anonymous daily check-in (device model, Android and app version, country) and crash reports. Neither contains anything that identifies you.
- We show no ads, use no advertising SDKs, and never sell or rent data.
- You can delete everything from inside the app or from this page.

4. Permissions and what they're used for
Offly asks for each permission when you turn on the feature that needs it, and explains why on screen first. The full list, with what each one can and cannot see, is on the permissions page. In brief:
- Usage access: to measure how long apps are open. Required for limits and the Usage screen.
- Display over other apps: to show the "Blocked by you" screen and the floating time-left pill.
- Accessibility service: only for the grey screen, slow touch in kids mode, and blocking short-video sections inside apps. Offly uses it to detect which app is in front and to toggle the display colour. It does not read or store screen content. See the accessibility disclosure.
- Notification access: only for Digest and Wind-down, to hold notifications and deliver them later. Not stored, not sent to us.
- Offly does not ask for location, camera, microphone, contacts, call logs, SMS or files.
5. Offly Space (rewards)
Offly Space, an optional rewards feature, is not part of this edition of Offly. If it is added, this policy will be updated before it launches, it will be off until you choose to open it, and it will never use your name, email or phone number.
6. What we never collect
Your name, phone number, email (unless you write to us), contacts, messages, photos, browsing history, keystrokes, screen contents, precise location history, advertising ID, or any content from other apps. We have no advertising or analytics SDKs from third parties in the app.
7. Who we share data with
- Google Play services for app distribution.
- Our hosting provider, which stores our servers' data on our behalf under contract.
- Authorities, if the law requires it and the request is valid.
We do not sell, rent or trade data, and we don't share it for advertising.
8. How long we keep it
- On-phone data: until you delete it or uninstall Offly.
- Daily check-ins: 13 months, then aggregated.
- Crash reports: 180 days.
9. Your rights and how to delete
You can, at any time:
- Delete everything on the phone: Settings → Privacy → Delete my data. Or uninstall Offly.
- Ask us to access, correct or erase data, or to object to processing, by emailing hello@beoffly.com. We answer within 30 days.
If you're in India, these rights come from the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, they come from the GDPR and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing is performance of the service you asked for (the launcher) and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and honest (crash reports, check-ins, integrity checks).
10. Children
Offly is for adults and for parents. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Kids mode is a feature a parent turns on for a child on the parent's own phone; while it's on, no data about the child is collected, and nothing leaves the device. If you believe a child has given us data, write to hello@beoffly.com and we'll delete it. See also our child safety standards.
11. Security
Data on the phone is stored in app-private storage; the kids-mode PIN is hashed. Traffic to our servers uses TLS. Access to servers is limited to named staff and every admin action is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
12. This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to serve the font file. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, time) for up to 30 days for security.
13. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect and keep the previous version available on request. The effective date at the top always shows the current version.
